The most magical place on earth

So there wasn't much for me to post yesterday...Kurt says he walks faster when he doesn't have 3 dogs with him...and that could be said of him having me with him too.  I walked 1.84 miles in about 35 minutes...and tried to eat well, but my dad made is most awesome of ribs and ... you can't deny the ribs.

Today, I couldn't get up...I set the alarm, got up about 30 minutes after it went off, made some coffee and had a granola bar...and just didn't want to go.  But is was okay...because we went to the Magic Kingdom today...and walked a considerable amount...took a ton of pictures...and eventually is started raining so bad that they stopped all the rides.

My eating today was a good as I could make it.  I ordered a turkey bacon wrap for lunch...it came with fries, but I only had about half of them...but I did have chicken parmigiana for dinner, with some garlic mashed potatoes and some really great bread with an oil season mix...gotta love the carbs.

I have the best intentions of going walking in the morning...of course it might be to the Panera Bread, but its 1.33 miles away...so 2.6 for a good cup of coffee isn't too bad.

Breathe in the water vapor

So yesterday I didn't end up making it out for a walk because I didn't get to sleep until late Saturday night.  But yesterday was filled with some walking and some time in the pool...so at least there was some activity.

This morning I did get up fairly early...7am...and by the time I was capable of functioning (which took about half an hour) I went for a walk around the lake.  One lap is about 0.6 mile...and by the end of the second lap, I realized just how hard it is for me to breathe with so much humidity...so... 1.2 miles in 30 minutes...I started slowing down toward the end.  I was good though and took the stairs instead of the elevator (we're on the 5th floor).

it's a little hard to see because the balconies are screened in for bugs

So we'll be heading out soon to do stuff, but later on today I'm hoping to make it to the fitness center...and I'm making pizza for dinner.  Its a great recipe...I love it.  Try it out:

One pizza crust, either from a bag and add water, or premade dough
1/2 cup of tomato sauce
1 Tbsp of olive oil
4 cloves of garlic, chopped
2 Aidell's Chicken Sausages (Any Flavor)
1-2 cups of mushrooms (or any of your favorite vegitables)
1/4-1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese

Roll out the crust
In a sauce pan, heat olive oil and brown garlic
Add tomato sauce to the sauce pan to heat
When sauce is heated, spread on pizza crust
Sprinkle with half of the cheese
Arrange sausage slices and vegis on the pizza
Sprinkle with remaining cheese

Cook according to time and heat that came with pizza crust or 10-12 mins at 450*

Enjoy

My feet hurt

I need to go find where I have my walking shoes packed away in the garage.  Walking in my regular tennis shoes is giving me blisters...so now I need to research what I can do to cut down the inflammation so I can walk relatively pain free tomorrow...or later today.

This morning Kurt got up very early to go to Carson City to work at the hospital for one of his classes...so while he gets to play with x-ray toys all day, I got to take dogs on the walk this morning.  Yippeee. :( Not the walk, but having both dogs.

We walked a different direction this morning because as we walked out the gate there was a huge rottie sitting on the sidewalk, off a leash, whose owner was using a whistle from 15 feet away, so I guess he was training him. Anyway, Oreo would have tried to play bite and the rottie would have eaten both him and Schroeder, so we went the other way.

So I'm walking...I got off of Sparks Blvd because the traffic annoys me after a while and I started walking through the neighboring development.  I figure that the road must go through because  I am seeing a few more cars than normal and also posted speed signs, so I keep going.  About half way down the road I wonder if I am going to end up at a dead end and think whether I should turn back...but I kind of recognize the street name...and I have my phone if I really need a map.  However, the hill where the Rock Church on Vista is keeps getting closer...so I really don't know where I'm going to end up.

Finally, I see the end of the road...and know exactly where I am. Half way between Sparks Blvd & Vista Blvd on the road I take to get to my dad and stepmom's house (when it isn't closed due to the widening of Vista).  At this point I know I will have walked further than I did yesterday...which is good...but my feet are really hurting now...plus my dogs, God love them, are crazy with new smells and the need to pee on everything in sight. I got home...did a little Wii Fit aerobic, strength training, balance and yoga stretching...and then started the turkey chili for dinner.

Long story short.  Today's walk was 1.87 mi. in 40 minutes...so my time is still about the same, but there is really only so fast that you can go when your dogs need to constantly relieve themselves (or in Schroeder's case phantom mark territory).  One complaint.  Why is there never garbage can on a walking path?
