Morning came too early today

We decided that we would start walking today...we'd get up at 8am and walk for at least a half an hour.  Kurt's alarm clock went off and kept ringing, of course, because my love does not know how to use his alarm clock...looked outside and it was such a "beautiful" day.

Just the kind of day that you want to think ... nevermind, I'll start walking tomorrow.  Luckily, or not, for me, Kurt has decided that he is going to be the nagging person that makes me do stuff I don't want to do...so we went for a walk.  While it was windy and unpleasant, the walk was nice, woke me up and I feel better for it.

According to the path I drew on www.mapmyrun.com, we walked 1.55 mi in 30 minutes.  Not a bad way to start the morning. Going to the gym would be nice, if we had the money (speaking of which, I may have an interview later this week [woohoo]) but walking outside is not only a good way for us to start out, but is beneficial for someone else we love who's got to lose some weight...

So we haven't yet decided if we are going to post as we go, or do one post a day...so for the first couple days it might be a little disjointed...but we'll get a rhythm down eventually.

  1. Love it! I am so with you. Would have been hard on a cold, windy day. Way to go Kurt for pushing and way to go Candace for listening :) I am proud of you both.

  2. Candace and Kurt I'm so excited for you! This is awesome and you always have a walking partner in me after 3:30 on weekdays or on the weekends if you need one. Remember: Start slow and steady - walking is the perfect way to start and studies have shown that 5 small meals a day seems to work the best.

  3. Way to go girl...and boy! I'm very happy that you are taking this step (many steps!) together. I've struggled with weight issues all my life, and I can share a few things that have helped me: Walking (of course)! Dance classes (Salsa with Miles lately--so much fun)! Climbing stairs (start real slow)--great return on time invested! I'll be rooting for you all the way! And you can root for me, too! XOXO, Amy

I am gonna send you a few books and put you in contact with Donovan and Erin, they have taught me how to have a fun, healthy, life while still being able to enjoy myself (if you know what I mean). Not only will I follow this blog, consider me an active teammate on this journey.

    I love you guys!
